Anna's 5; Allen's a deck builder

I realized I skipped a birthday!

Twelve days ago, Anna Banana turned 5.

We celebrated in the usual way: having cake and icecream with Grandma and Grandpa (this time at their house), and singing about 6 birthday songs while the candles melt and the wax starts to drip onto the cake.

Yesterday while we were doing family worship, and Anna asked if she could pray. Unprompted, she said the sweetest prayer I have ever heard. I can't remember the whole thing, but she started out praying for Mommy and Daddy, because they work hard. She also prayed for "help when we're naughty," and for us not to be naughty anymore, and for us to be good in our hearts, because we have to thank Jesus for dying on the cross and rising again. We were all so impressed.

Allen has been working with Mr. Langridge building decks. Mr. Langridge said Allen's the best help he's ever had. Here are some pictures of the deck they finished up this morning in Longmont. We were in the area running a few errands, so we swung by and I took the pictures. It was a beautiful deck. I'm so glad Allen's able to work! It's funny how fast he's growing up, and even funnier that he's getting taller and taller at the same time. =) A few months ago I was saying something about how I really look up to him now, and as I was saying it, I realized that I literally have to LOOK UP to him. haha..
